What's Happening?

In this dark recess on the Internet we try to provide an overview of what the Huntingdonshire Music School might be up to and significant dates.

Whilst still at the initial stages of development, the "diary" has been broken into:-

• internal college dates. These are significant dates or events that affect the college. Some will be of importance to pupils and staff, whilst others are open to any member of the public
• diary. This provides a simple listing of forthcoming events extracted from our online calendar.
• external college events. These are dates where the college is involved outside of the music school premises. This will include external concerts and competitions.
• general external music events. We thought that it would be useful to try and compile dates of music events in and around Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties.

Archives

We keep some pictures of past events on archive pages. There are currently pages for 2004 and 2007.

Many more pictures (600+) are available on the Group website (more information) at groups.mac.com/humsa for which you need a login name and password. If you are staff, a student (past or present) or parent please request access and we'll send an invitation to join.

These are the (relatively) static dates. In order to view the latest diary dates and information you need to view the HUMS iCal diary . This contains more information than can be squeezed in above plus it has the added bonus (for the poor old webmaster) of being updated automatically. We have a easy to follow guide how to get our calendars onto your computer without you having to enter anything.

External College Events

The following are external events, outside the college, where our students are actively involved i.e. playing. Sometimes they are the main attraction (aren't they always), sometimes they are supporting a bigger event. For photos from past events see the picture archive...

General Music Dates

The idea is to try and compile a diary of musical events in and around Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties including Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire. Having said this we're open to include anything within reasonable traveling distance.

Potentially, and with contributions from folks who either organise or who discover forthcoming events, this could become difficult to maintain using a static web page. What we've done is to publish a calendar which can be viewed at either Apple or the iCalShare sites. In both cases there is a single master calendar source.

If you are using a Mac or the Netscape browser you can subscribe to this calendar. Guidance on subscribing using the Netscape (or open source Mozilla / Firefox / Thunderbird) browser or apple iCal or Mozilla Sunbird calendar applications is available here. More information on how this is published is available on the iCal part of Apple's site.
